Charlotte Gainsbourg Talks About Her Role in I'm Not There

Later this year, Charlotte Gainsbourg appears in James Ivory's City of Your Final Destination, and in Todd Haynes's highly anticipated Bob Dylan biopic, I'm Not There, in which the singer is played by seven actors. "It's a vision of different characters inside Dylan, and a wonderful way of talking about someone," says Gainsbourg, who appears opposite only one of the Dylans, played by Heath Ledger.

"My character is his wife, and it's about that aspect of him: his family, the divorce - the other Dylans are not involved with women in the same way. Todd Haynes gave all of us a special compilation of music - mine was a beautiful one with songs like Lay, Lady, Lay."
