Actor Heath Ledger’s father, Kim, may already be a grandfather several times over but has no signs of slowing down. At 57, Ledger senior has just finished competing in the Targa Tasmania Rally (more successfully than his celebrity colleague Eric Bana who spun out his restored 1974 Ford XB Coupe) and is already planning his next rally trip.
Kim Ledger will race in the New South Wales leg of the grueling Dutton Rally. Ledger will join other Perth businessmen as they dodge and weave their way through the rally obstacle course. He will race in a TRF – a one-off car built by his own company and considered one of the fastest road-registered cars in WA.
“I really love competing but have no expectation of winning,” says Ledger Sr. People will be able to see him in action at the Perth stage of the Dutton Rally in late July.
