THE JOKER. 100% REAL. IT’S DIFFERENT THAN WHAT WE ARE USE TO.

That is indeed a permanent scar on his face. Is he so sadistic he cut it out himself? Did Batman do this to him? One thing’s for sure… It’s pure Christopher Nolan. This is a guy more from a horror movie than a comic book character.

Warner Brothers have come up with an absolute ingenious way of revealing a brief glimpse of what The Joker will look like in the currently filming Dark Knight. Just days after releasing a website for Batman character Harvey Dent's campaign for Gotham District Attorney, Warner Brothers has launched another site: IBelieveInHarveyDentToo.com .

The site appears to be created by the Joker, who has hacked and defaced the previously released Harvey Dent for District Attorney poster and superimposed his own face. It is a brilliant viral marketing campaign from WB to promote Dark Knight, and possibly to control the continuing clamor for a peek at Heath's new Joker.

Jett, webmaster of Batman-On-Film has verified through Warner Brothers that the site is legitimate and the released photo is real.

This weekend Comics2Film has been one of the few sites to question the authenticity of the ibelieveinharveydenttoo.com site.
the Joker?

While the image of Heath Ledger as The Joker spread like wildfire, we questioned the fact that the domain was registered by a third party and hosted on a separate server than other Warner Bros. sites.

However at this point it seems certain that the image is legitimate and the site is part of Warner's viral marketing.

Readers on the C2F message board point out that the domain was registered days before the original ibelieveinharveydent.com was publicized. While it's possible a potential hoaxer could have uncovered the original domain name before it was publicized, this seems very unlikely.

Furthermore, C2F has now received a confirmation of sorts from folks inside the 'Dark Knight' publicity machine, people with whom CF2 has corresponded directly, which lays any doubts we previously had to rest.

ibelieveinharveydenttoo.com has since gone dark, with a visible "Page Not Found". A swipe of the mouse reveals hidden "Ha ha ha" messages throughout the page. Close examination of that laugher reveals the message "See you in December"...most likely an indicator of when we'll see a trailer for the film.

This teaser was, in fact, your first look at Heath Ledger as The Joker in 'The Dark Knight'. Kudos to Warner Bros. for pulling of an exciting bit of viral marketing!
