HH has avoided posting press about this story; however, this is one that I want to show. If anyone ever doubts why Heath dislikes the Australian press, this should explain it perfectly. And they pretend to be objective . . .

The goss on Heath Ledger's now infamous orange-peeling interview on Channel 7's Sunrise just keeps getting better.

Last week PC reported that Ledger had made a written apology to reporter Katherine Tulich for his "terrible interview skills" in an interview for his new movie Lords of Dogtown.

Sunrise read out Ledger's letter and everyone accepted his humble-pie apology.

But perhaps it is Sunrise who should apologise to Ledger. Industry sources say the interview, in which Ledger peeled and ate an orange, was taped last April when the 26-year-old had just found out he was to be a father and didn't want to talk about it.

Ledger's camp tells us that Tulich asked to re-do the interview later and apparently got "a fantastic" interview in which he was open about impending fatherhood and his much-protected private life.

So why did Sunrise run the old Heath interview then proceed to rubbish him?

The film company that set up both interviews is apparently furious with Sunrise, while Ledger's family is seething that he had to apologise for it.

Sunrise did not return PC's call at the time of going to press.
