Addendum: The video comes from Access Hollywood and I tried the YouTubeDownloader on it just now - but it doesn't support that site, it says... So... But it's good to have another option to try if my regular downloader can't snag a video, so I'll keep it for now anyway...

Well - I've never had any problems on YouTube with the DownloadHelper I use for downloads. That's why it was so great that Naomi found a YuoTube-upload of this video. It doesn't work, however, on most "bigger" sites (CNN, NBC - or in this case AccessHollywood) that uses embedded flash video (at least I think that's the problem in my experience blink.gif ) and it seems the YouTubeDownloader has the same limitations. However: I haven't used it long enough to say for sure wich of those two downloaders that work best...

Aaaanyway: it's great that someone out there has found a downloader that can snag a video like this - and that Naomi found the upload of it on YouTube, so that I could download it from there instead! happy0188.gif All well that ends well! biggrin.gif

Ahh yes, two different formats. YouTube and those sites embed differently from the ones that use flash streaming, such as the news sites.

To get those... you need a program that will copy it directly from the screen of your computer, recording the picture from your screen and using your computer's soundcard to get the audio.

The best and easiest one I've come across is: Replay Video Capture
However, it is one you have to buy. (Although there are instructions on how to get it free on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51YQ2c4yKrU , I have not tried that method.)

There is also the Ask & Record Toolbar which is free. I've used it effectively on many sites, and then later been frustrated with it. I generally prefer standalone programs instead of toolbars, for obvious reasons. You can get it here: http://www.applian.com/freecorder4/
Instructions are here: http://www.applian.com/freecorder4/help.php

Good luck. smile.gif

Wunderbar! (Practicing German for my trip to Berlin on Dec 22. Gonna spend Christmas there with both my brothers: the one who lives there + the other one).

I can always count on you for great tips! Thanx, hun! hug_002.gif
