Thanks, Mel! I had sorted some of those just recently, and have been looking for a better quality one from fanpop. If anyone knows the issue number and date, we might be able to get a back-issue and scan a large copy.

LOL! That one does look like a perm, I giggled out loud when I saw it. His hair had its very own wonderful personality Most of these I had never seen before. I never bought or buy fan magazines so I guess I missed them somehow.

Yeah, he had a natural body to his hair, but during the AKT times . . . that was some "additional" body added. LOL
In that pic, it looks like it's brand new... before it has a chance to relax a bit.

I don't buy fan mags, either. Used to buy People, US Weekly, and Entertainment Weekly, but since Heath passed, I'm soooo over them. Ditto, ET, Access Hollywood, and the Entertainment TV shows/ blogs, etc... They put a really bad taste in my mouth.
Besides, I've been really surprised at how many new faces and names have popped up in the last 3 years that I don't know from Adam's housecat. There's been this propagation of pathetic faux celebs who aren't even really about the acting, creativity, or their craft, but who are only about the spotlight: Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, Audrina Patridge, Katie Price, Peaches Geldof, Kristin Cavallari, Kim Kardashian, Brody Jenner, Kim Stewart, Hayden Panettiere . . . I could go on, but who are these people and why does anybody care?

I am with you guys on the magazines, and the entertainment shows. They are all just tabloids as far as I am concerned. I used to buy People and watch ET, but I had suspected for a long time it was more BS than entertainment news. Then in 2008 they both had so much made up garbage about Heath that I quit all together. Stars today? anyone with a vid camera that puts it on Youtube. No talent required.

That was taken around November/early December 2007 at Saved Tattoo where Scott Campbell was inking the last couple of sets that Heath had done.

I've always called him the old Jazz man. Thought it could be an older version of himself . . . I've also heard that some think it looks like the Old Man logo on the Matilda's Restaurant t-shirt he's wearing. Whatever the significance, I gotta say, I'm not really fond of it at all.

Ever notice Heath's penchant for 3's?

I was really curious because whatever it is, it wasn't in the painting.

Hmmm . . . you know, I hadn't noticed! Now I'm gonna go look . . .

Well . . . Heath sat for the painting (and posed for the painting's photos) the last week in December. These photos were a few weeks earlier... Hmmmm You think maybe that part was just a drawn on test shot to see if Heath wanted to have that one done? I'm intrigued now...

Oooh . . . looks like that part is just too far down on his arm. The painting cuts off earlier, but I think you can kinda see where it starts.

The Tatoo of the old man on his arm might go along with his "Old Man River" tatt. But also we know that Heath loved the song "Old Man" by Neil Young..it was one of the songs played at his Memorial.
The drawing on the t-shirt is one of a Spanish Conquistador, so they aren't the same. The restaurant is in New Mexico so that makes all the sense in the world. But a Mexican restaurant called "Matilda"...no intiendo. Hahahaha!

Given Heath's tshirt, and Matilda's name, seems a good guess he might have eaten there, too. Apparently a fairly famous place. With great authentic food.

I don't think it has anything to do with the Old Man River that Michelle wrote on his arm. (I'll tell you privately what the Old Man River signifies.)

@ Phyllis: With the other one... I know the idea of the broken infinity symbol came up back then too. Actually I think that's the best guess so far. But we're still left with the question about what that rectangle with the dot in it symbolizes. Since it's connected to the "infinity symbol" they ought to mean somethin together... Could it be some mathematical/geometrical formulas that can be expressed through pictures - and can have some kind of application to "real life"?... *sigh* Nah... I don't know....

That rectangle thing with the dot in it always looks like a meat cleaver to me. But that's just weird. LOL I suppose it could cut the infinity line... but that's kinda a downer.

I'm sure Heath's real meaning behind it was far more intelligent and meaningful.

But now that lower tat is gonna bug me. Can't figure out what its supposed to be. the little lines almost look like lightening bolts or electrical discharge symbols.

I wish we could ask Scott about the tattoos, he would probably know what they meant I have to wonder why Heath was getting so many tattoos those last few months? Was it a reflection of all the turmoil and changes he was going through at the time (the break up of his relationship, not seeing Matilda as much as he wanted, moving on with his life?)
