Not exactly new, but i just read this one today and kinda saddened me a bit.

You have acted in about 40 films. Is there a co-star who has managed to touch your heart?
Only one man...Heath Ledger, he was one of my few friends in the industry. Many times I'll work with actors and I can tell they're thinking, 'What are you doing? Why are you going that far with it?' or 'You're nuts!' With Heath, I could feel him going, 'I love it!' It felt like we were really pushing each other on. He was a good guy. There are not a lot of actors who I stay in touch with. But Heath was one of them.

Wow, such a wonderful statement. I can easily see Christian making this statement. From the interviews I have read and heard from Heath and Christian, the two of them had a great appreciation of each other's abilities.
I can't imagine Heath not having that strong of an effect on someone. He was such a tremendous presence.

Came across this again, and I have to say it touched me all over again. I have been reading a lot of things people say about Heath and this one quote always stands out in my mind. Obviously I did not have the same experience as Bale, but I have to agree with him, Heath Ledger loved what he did and it showed on his face, in his actions and in how he treated others,etc. Observing him doing even mundane things, he never complained, stuff he did not even have to do on the set, just helping out with whatever showed us that he was a good person. People ask "What was Heath like?" We always say "He was such a good guy", they seem to expect a lot more, but sometimes I think we forget just how rare that quality is in a human being.
No book real or fiction or DVD 'biography' comes close to describing what Heath was like as this simple short quote does

You can tell Christian is genuinely sorry about the loss...Heath spoke very highly of him as well from what I can gather. I would have loved to see them in other, non-Batman films together.

It's frustrating saying that there was a possibility of a duet for other things... Like I'm sure he could have had the opportunity to make other films with Jake Gyllenhaal...
