This past summer my family and I went on vacation to Traverse City, Michigan's cherry capital! Being a family of six, it's not often that we're all together at the same time these days. So this was a very special week. My father is a high school art teacher, and he suggested we all make keychains to remember our trip by. We had spent the vacation in a beautiful cabin on a lake. I rented several Heath movies while in town (Candy, Two Hands, The Four Feathers, The Patriot, I'm Not There) and decided to watch one every night while there.

So I decided to make my keychain Heath related, as my favorite memories of the trip were watching his movies with my family. Under my father's guidance, I cut his initials out of a sheet of copper and decorated it with glass enamel. We drilled a hole in the corner so it could be attached to a chain. This was the final result:

It's a little sketchy, I had never done anything like it before. I used red because it reminded me of Heath's bright, passionate, personality. And I sprinkled it with white in relevance to heaven and purity. It was a lot of fun to make, and not only does it serve as a small tribute to Heath, but it reminds me of precious time spent with my family. smile.gif
