Oooh, me too! So much goes through my mind during that scene. Apart from feeling complete awe and joy at his portrayal... There's his agility, and his perfect ability to do a pratfall, his comic timing, slapstick humor . . .
but then there's the seriousness of the character's own anger and self-destructive tendencies. He's sociopathic, but there's also a part of him that is miserable being that way. He not only wants to "test" Batman's metal, but also part of him doesn't really care if Batman kills him. Indeed, he's daring him to. And one feels that if Batman did, even in death, the Joker would feel a kind of victory . . .
There's so much in that scene that I really love.... He was so amazing in that role. I'm so glad that his peers are rewarding his work in this.
