We Looked upon this day,
a year ago..as any other.
then with one fleeting second
the waves came crashing over.

You were taken from us too soon,
so we all just closed our eyes,
we held our breath
for it hurt too much to consume.

So we all stand here,
remembering the man,
who gave so much to us,
more than he will ever understand.

We carry you with us,
each and everyday,
it is in the way we kindly speak to others,
or smile,
even when things are not going our way.

So we thank you for your kindness,
and your oh so beautiful heart,
we carry your memory always,
so we may never feel so far apart...
