In February 2008, at the Berlin Film Festival, a documentary film debuted in the European market called Dark Tracks. It's the true story of Martin Day and Dave Burnett, the men behind modern surfing. In 1970's aboard their ship, The Indie Trader, these surfing pioneers discovered the best waves in Bali and Indonesia. To bankroll their surfing lifestyle, these modern day pirates spent off hours on smuggling missions.

Nowdays, these free-spirited men are members of the reputable surfing establishment, and use their boat to taxi surfing's hottest talent out to discover unchartered waves. But their main mission, sponsered by Quicksilver, is to record uncharter waters in order to protect them for future generations of sportsmen.

Dark Tracks tells the story of a dynamic mix of unique and roguish men, the women who loved them, and the sport that changed their lives.

Narrated by Heath Ledger, the film was released in Germany and the European market in 2008. A U.S. release date is pending, but it will premiere at CineVegas. The US working title is currently "Sea of Darkness".
