And this one is special - it says: "The Joker *hearts* Heath Ledger

I you have any autographs, please share - it would be nice to see them all in one place...

LOL He got sloppier as the years passed. In the beginning, it was a bit more legible, but the basic structure is still the same. . . only more hurried. Those definitely look right. Did the person say when/where he got them?

I do have his autograph, actually. And several copies of earlier siggies. You'll notice when he's hurried, he often only signs "Heath". The difference when he's not hurried is more readable, and I do prefer his neater signatures.

The Joker

Heath Ledger

is FABULOUS!!! I LOVE IT!!!

My bet is he signed that when someone grabbed him in costume on the set... LOL So as the Joker, he signed his siggy...
He soooo would do that! LOL tongue.gif

(I'll post what I have as soon as I have the new laptop organized and everything back on and in the right places.)

That last one is great. I love the way he did that. Thanks for sharing them. laugh.gif

The Joker signature was for sale on Ebay not long ago. The guy wrote a story on how he was in Chicago and was waiting at the service entrance when he saw Heath skateboarding in the parking garage/service entrance area of the hotel. The guy approached him and asked Heath to sign as the Joker. The story is that most pro. autograph seekers were waiting for him at the main entrance but he apparently never used anything but the service entrance. I had been watching this item, so I will go back and see if I can find the particulars. I really wanted this one...it was special.

I thought they looked like they had been watermarked like the photos on ebay...

Yes, Please find the info if you can. The guy's story is just as interesting as the autograph.

btw: those quick sloppy, just "Heath" autographs, that's what Heath did a lot when autograph dealers asked for signatures. With fans, he often took more time, was neater and often signed his full name.
LOL I'm not surprised that he kept to the back entrances so as not to draw attention to himself. I love that he was skateboarding... LOL Clearly having fun on the set.

ROFL!! All three of these autos came from ebay...I was watching all of them at one time or another. Here is the story on the last autograph, from the seller, who is also a professional collector.

HERE IS THE STORY OF HOW I MET HEATH LEDGER IN CHICAGO.

WHILE I WAS IN CHICAGO FOR THE WEEKEND OF AUGUST 6-8 OF 2007 FOR THE LOLLAPALOOZA MUSIC FESTIVAL WITH PEARL JAM AND MANY OTHER GREAT BANDS. I FOUND OUT THAT HEATH LEDGER AND THE REST OF THE CREW FOR THE NEW BATMAN WERE IN TOWN FILMING AND STAYING AT A 5 STAR HOTEL IN DOWNTOWN CHICAGO. SOME OF THE BAND FOR LOLLAPALOOZA WERE ALSO STAYING THERE. WHILE WAITING OUTSIDE THE HOTEL IN THE EARLY AFTERNOON ON FRIDAY THE 6TH, HEATH LEDGER CAME OUT OF THE HOTEL, DRESSED DOWN LIKE A NORMAL PERSON, RIDING A SKATEBOARD. HE WENT RIDING DOWN THE STREET, WITHOUT ANYONE REALLY NOTICING HIM.

AT THIS TIME, I WENT TO MY CAR, GOT THE PHOTO PAPER I HAD, AND WAITED FOR HIM TO RETURN TO THE HOTEL.

HE CAME BACK LESS THAN 15 MINUTES LATER, STARBUCKS COFFEE IN HAND, AND WAS VERY NICE WHEN ME AND ONE OTHER PERSON APPROACHED HIM. HE WAS HAPPY TO SIGN MULTIPLE AUTOGRAPHS FOR US. HE ALSO TOOK A PHOTO OR TWO WITH PEOPLE THAT JUST HAPPENED TO BE WALKING BY AT THE RIGHT TIME.

HEATH LEDGER'S SKATEBOARDING WAS A NORMAL ROUTINE FOR HIM IN CHICAGO, SCHEDULE PERMITTING. HE WAS SEEN DOING THIS A FEW TIMES WHILE HE WAS IN THE CITY.

I FOUND OUT HOW LUCKY I WAS TO RUN INTO HIM LATER. WHEN HEATH LEDGER LEFT THE HOTEL OR RETURNED TO THE HOTEL FOR FILMING. HE ALWAYS CAME THROUGH THE HOTELS UNDERGROUND PRIVATE SERVICE ENTRANCE. THE OBVIOUS REASON FOR THIS WAS THAT HE WAS IN CHARACTER, POSSIBLY WITH MAKEUP ON, AND WOULD NOT WANT TO BE PHOTOGRAPHED THAT WAY BY PAPARAZZI OR ANYONE ELSE.

THUS, WHEN MANY OF THE CHICAGO AUTOGRAPH COLLECTORS WERE WAITING FOR HIM, THEY NEVER SAW HIM.

4Ever In Our Hearts
wow..they're great ...!!!! smile.gif I've never seen an autograph of him...loved that joker one !!! laugh.gif
Phyllis
WM, that's a WONDERFUL story. Thanks so much!!!

It also makes him more credible than some other autographs on eBay. Personally, I'd like to know the hotel, for when I visit Chicago.
Angel37
What a great story!! Thanks so much for posting that! I really enjoyed reading it! smile.gif
Trekfan
This is wonderful. I bet this fan will cherish this memory forever. And any photos he took as well.

I knew some gals who went to Chicago while TDK was filming and watched them filming it in the wee hours. They waited around to see Heath and one morning at around 5 or 6 am they managed to spot him. He was getting into a car. They asked him if they could take a pic but he was SO tired he politely declined.

But they will never forget seeing him.

springrose
wm'smom, thank you for sharing the story behind this signature. I must admit I haven't been watching ebay at all and I'm glad I know the story now.

Trekfan, thanks for your story, too. Poor Heath, I think he wasn't a morning person at all and having to be up at that sort of time of the day was something he probably really struggled with. I wouldn't have wanted my photo taken either...

I think he was leaving the set, not starting. During a lot of that Chicago shoot, 5 AM was the END of his shooting day, Rosa. He was getting in the car to leave the set after long work hours... THAT's why he was so exhausted.

What a sweet story, thank you for sharing it WM, that's the true human being Heath was. I know this person will cheries this memory for ever.

DAMN!! I was there for Lollapalooza! I totally would have traded being in the front row for KOL, MMJ, and Pearl Jam (with Ben Harper!) to see Heathy riding his skateboard. Wonder if he was able to catch Ben's set?
Angie
smile.gif So Heath, to go out on a skateboard and come back with Starbucks coffee. Thanks for sharing the story behind the autograph. Thankies
cheeky
Thanks a million for the signatures and the story!!
I've never seen his signatures before and I though hi handwriting was a bit different...
And the story is so warming, so, you know, heart-melting!.. How I wish anyone, just anybody on Earth still had the chance to meet him randomly with Starbucks coffee...

Hi all.
First time poster here!
This is my Heath auto which i have recently received, i have seen a very similar autograph on a Knights tale photo so i assume this is about the time that my card was signed. Any input would be great!

Hi part of the plan. smile.gif welcome.gif
Thanks so much for posting it. It's lovely.

His siggy did not change much through the years, none of ours do really. But around AKT and earlier it was a bit neater, because he wasn't as rushed. That looks to me like it might have been more recent.
Did the seller give a time frame?

I'm so glad you have one. Such a beautiful thing to cherish.

And again, I'm so glad you posted and joined. smile.gif
Trekfan
welcome to the group, part of the plan (I like that moniker)

I love your MR J collection. And Heath had a very distinctive signature. This certainly a treasure you have thanks for sharing

Thanks for the comments! very appreciated biggrin.gif

The seller i bought it off actually had it displayed in her shop for a few years, she got it from a colletcor who went back and fourth getting autographs and there was a proof photo with it, but the collector kept them as proof of meeting him. If only i had that!!
When i received it the original pics in it were badly marked as there was no glass in it (thankfully the auto was un damaged apart from a few minor dots that are pretty much invisible.
IPB Image

This is how i received it, i replaced the images with a few Joker ones (as it was my fav role he was in) and re-glazed it.
Btw no i have reglazed it etc, would anyone have a rough guide price to how much its worth, just interested really, as i NEVER plan to sell it. (Took long enough getting one!) smile.gif

ps Love the joker one at the top of the page!! Any one have any pics of it being displayed?

No one knows whether he was a natural morning person or a natural night person. Perhaps his insomnia had something to do with it, perhaps it didn't. Also, no one knows for sure what time his shooting day ended on that particular day in question.
ruth
I spent a little bit of time in Chicago during the TDK filming. At that time, the shoots would go during the night and wrap at around 5 or when the sun came up essentially.

I saw Heath very briefly, though, later in the shoot when they were doing the daytime funeral scene. He was of course dressed like all the other policemen and one would think he'd blend in easily, but not so! He was so tall and I recognized him first from, of all things, his walk, which was very distinctive, graceful, like a dancer.

Thank you so much for posting his Joker signature, part of the plan! That is awesome!

We don't know that.

If I write it, you can rest assured I have a reason for believing it.

When an actor receives stacks of photos to sign for dealers or promotional purposes or if he's in a mob of people on the red carpet and in a hurry, the signatures are never as neat since there are so many to sign and/or time is short.

But if a fan caught him on the street or in a one on one setting, often Heath would not be as rushed.

I don't know for sure whether he was a natural morning or night person.

I do, however, know the shooting schedule from Chicago. Indeed at the time, I actually HAD copy of the schedule from the production company, and was writing based on my memory of that.

Again, IF I write something, I have a legitimate reason to believe that it is accurate. Even if I don't expound on it.

Ukulele...you are the kind of member we do not enjoy here.

"WITH ALL DUE RESPECT"?!?...there was no respect in any of your last (deleted) post.

Phyllis knows a great deal about many things...and one thing you do NOT know is that Phyllis is a truthful person...who uses her OWN money and her OWN time to put together a beautiful site...all honoring a man in the best way she can.

Anyone who would trash her in any way is NOT welcome here. Nothing Phyllis has ever said here is untrue...not one single word.

And you have no facts to prove otherwise.

Please...make yourself disappear...

We have a great many members that are beautiful and wonderful that have so many wonderful things to share...your hatred...for whatever silly reason...makes us all want you gone.

Understand this...It is not just me saying this...we have a lot of members who cannot fathom why you would come on here and spew hatred. It must be sad to be so bitter.

Go where they want you...some rag site...I am sure there are plenty. In fact, I bet you've been listening too much to them already...judging by your last post.
ThankYoux
DW Guys - Theres always one person who has to make a point that they believe they know everything.. They have to fight the world and everyone in it..

Well...now that "that" is taken care of..we can all proceed in the manner in which this website was created. With respect, dignity and LOVE for Heath!
Thank you Phyllis for all that you do and for this wonderful place YOU created where we can come to honor and love Heath together.

Seconded! Everyone here does a wonderful job with the site. smile.gif

I don't understand the problem people have about the rules. Most fansites I know are all careful about what they post and it's not like there aren't thousands of places you can go to trade in gossip if, for whatever reason, you'd rather do that than read truthful stuff.

Thank you everyone for your support.

Miranda, it's just a minor annoyance. For the most part, all the fuss only goes back to one person. It's not really about how I run the site, although that excuse will be used.
It's not even about Heath, although that pretense is also shouted with loud indignation.
It's personal, and goes back years.

But I let it don't affect me. So all this person can do is be a pest and get their friends to be pests. Occasionally, that's what you will see on the board.

I'm going to stay the person I've always been, don't worry. But I am still in pain over Heath's loss and no longer have the patience for pissy game playing.
I just plain don't have to take it.

So if a member Disrespects me on my board or in a pm, that's it.
Make no mistake about it, the moderators did not ban anyone. I did. Plain and simple.
No other admin of any other site would allow themselves to be treated with disrespect. And neither will I.

My heart and soul belonged to Heath and both are poured into this site. I am open about who I am and where I am. Everything I say, my name and reputation are attached to. People can decide for themselves if that is enough to give me credibility. If not, then I wish them well finding someplace else that they feel is more heartfelt, true and honest.

What a lovely discussion for our new member to find as soon as he posts. LOL So I'll get back on topic . . .

It'sallPartofthePlan, I do apologize, and thank you again for posting your wonderful autograph. I know how much you'll cherish it. Mine is all I have of him that he actually touched. I will try to get it scanned either late tonight or tomorrow. Right now, I'm on campus and this week is the final week of the quarter, so lots of business to take care of.

I hope you enjoy HH and posting here. My good members love Heath and have the highest respect for him.

I am glad I missed the post, I can't stand people who would malign someone else.

Thanks, Phyllis, for putting together a wonderful site like this.

Just scanned this again tonight, although I could swear I've scanned it before. I don't know where all the marks on the photo came from, because the photos itself looks quite good; I keep it in both a protective plastic sleeve and behind a glass frame. Guess the scanner could use a bit of cleaning. LOL

But anyway, here's the scan of my Heath autograph. I reduced the resolution to 72 dpi for quick web loading...

Phyllis, I didn't know you had this autograph - what a gem! It's a particularly beautiful one...

I've been quiet about the recent negative posts because I find it difficult to relate to anything negative these days and I didn't really want to draw attention to it. Just want to say it's truly precious what you've created here and don't allow anyone to spoil it. Just keep on doing what you do best and remember, you don't really owe anyone an explanation. If someone can't appreciate your dedication to Heath, it's their problem, not yours...
