Heath & Geoffrey Rush Both Post Personal Messages on the Addicted to the Movie Candy Message Board!!Exciting News! As you know, the
Addicted to the Movie Candy group is a group of fans who started a blog and forum to try to garner support for the film,
Candy.
Even though critics have said Heath's performance exceeds his performance in Brokeback, we had been told by the U.S. exhibitors that Candy had little chance of opening in more than 4 or 5 cities. We wanted all of you to have the opportunity to see this wonderful film.
Yesterday, Monday 26 June 2006, both Heath and Geoffrey Rush visited the ATTMC forum and posted a personal message to us!! After some negotiating through industry channels by the founder of the ATTMC, Mr. Ledger had been made aware of our efforts, and was then kind enough to contact his fellow cast members and make them aware of what we are doing on behalf of the film. He is aware that the forum membership and the blog hits are extremely important, and that exhibitors are watching our progress to determine if Candy is viable enough to be put in wide release. And he was generous enough to give of himself in the hopes that it will help you all become more excited about Candy and encourage you to sign up at the ATTMC forum.
Heath made two posts: one on the message board and one in the blog comment section. His posts are introspective and thought provoking. Mr. Rush's post is dignified and gracious.
This is a great favor to the ATTMC and quite a coup. And we thank Mr. Ledger and Mr. Rush for their kindness and encouragement in our project. Remember, this project not only helps fans be able to see Candy, it is also beneficial to the actors themselves.
We can all help.
But we need strength in numbers.
While we would love to have you become an active participant on the message board, it is
not required. You don't have to do anything, not volunteer, or even post. But we
must have the members. We need the numbers to show the studio that there is an audience.
So if you'd like to help the project, a project that has the support of both Heath & Geoffrey, and hopefully soon other cast members, please go over to the ATTMC and join the message board.
Again, no participation is required if you aren't comfortable. And if you are looking for a familiar face, I am there. I'm registered under Phyllis, just like I am here. You can ask anything you'd like, and I will help if I can. The admins of the site, DKBB, Theresa & Ingrid are also long standing Heath fans who are putting their heart and souls into this project. We'd love for you to join us. :smile:
