Candy's US Distributor tells our organization that as of right now, Candy is only slated for 3 or 4 cities nationwide, unless we can make a significant difference within the next couple of months.


Hello Heath Fans:

As you know, a group of film lovers have created an organization called Addicted to the Movie Candy, in order to try to get the film in wide release. The studios who are distributing the film are behind our efforts.

Two of our members have already seen the film and say it is absolutely wonderful. Critics have said that as great as Heath was in Brokeback, he's even better in Candy!

But as of right now, very few of us will be able to see Candy in our local theatres. ATTMC is being told by the studio that Candy will only be released in 3 or 4 cities and in less than 30 theatres for the duration of it's run. The film is currently expected to be in theatres one week, possibly two. They have urged us to continue our efforts, but that we must show real number that will translate into box office in order to make any difference.

In an effort to put the word out, a blog for the film was created, as well as a message board for people to join and show their support for the film.

It is the Addicted to the Movie Candy forum that is essential and important.
The studio is watching the ATTMC message board to see if it becomes active and if a lot of members join.

Here's what we need.

Numbers. Period.
Just numbers.

Numbers translate into paying customers at the ticket office. That's what the studio is looking for. Over the next few weeks, it will watch the ATTMC forum to see if we are being effective and if there are numbers of interested people joining up.

We need your help.
