HELP Bring The Film Candy to Your Local Theatre.

Volunteer with Addicted to the Movie Candy!


A support group by the name of Addicted to the Movie Candy has been created for the purpose of informing people of the film's existence and ensuring Candy's wide release throughout the world.

The organization has the backing of both Dendy Films and ThinkFilms in its efforts, and those studios will be providing the group with film news, dates and other information.

As Heath fans, we may all be aware of the film Candy; however, the movie going public in general is not. Our group does not want this film to suffer the fate of Ned Kelly and so many other small indies (like Two Hands), which were not seen due to lack of publicity, lack of funding, and the fact that they were small budget foreign films. We do not want the film to be a small release, like Monsters Ball, which only showed in a little over 300 theaters in the USA at its peak.

In communication with the film companies, they have stressed that making people aware of the film is the most important need. Therefore, Addicted to the Movie Candy has pledged to work with other websites, contact movie theaters, film festivals, and the large companies that own theatre chains to request this film. Where mass contact is necessary, mass emails have been found to be counter-productive. Therefore, Addicted to the Film Candy will be creating online petitions.

Candy needs your support if we want everyone to have a better chance of seeing this wonderful film. We can have a voice and we can make a difference and this is a wonderful opportunity to join with the fans of the other stars of the film and support our celeb and a fabulous film.

For supporters, the group is giving a free static Addicted To The Movie Candy bumper sticker with a great pic of Heath and Abby. There will also be a t-shirt , currently being designed, that DOES feature Heath. T-shirts will have to be ordered by May 31, 2006. More on the t-shirt prices and sizes shortly.

You can help with our goal of getting Candy into your local theatre by volunteering your spare time. If you have an hour a day or a couple hours a week, please volunteer to send emails (the letter will be supplied to you by ATTMC), contact webmasters or anything that you might have a few spare minutes for.

Addicted to the Movie Candy was the brain child of a friend and fellow Heath webmaster, Theresa; however it is an independent group, consisting of fans of all the individual actors in the film, as well as fans of its director - Neil Armfield, the writer - Luke Davies, and lovers of independent film.
