I apologize again, I can't get the link up. You Tube has a wonderful tribute song written by Emzy.Collins "We're All Standing" that he wrote and recorded for Heath. It is beautiful and seems to relay the collective sentiments of all Heath's fans world wide. The lyrics he posted are:

We're all standing -

is it something I said
is it something you feel
will it change the whole world
is it something that real

we're all standing
we're all standing on your side
it might be too late
now take a look and see we're trying

theres an end to every frame
you play like it's real
are you making a big mistake
is it all on the feel

we're all standing
we're all standing on your side
it might be too late
now take a look and see we're trying

we're all standing
we're all standing on your side
it might be too late
now take a look and see we're trying

This is a new interview with Emzy Collins and he talks there about his tribute song for Heath :

emzy.collins, 25, loves music. That is evident in this emerging artist’s songs. The way he plays, the way he sings, the music moves you. emzy started playing music at a young age. In family pictures you can see him holding onto a mandolin that is practically the same size as him, with the biggest grin on his face, in another you can see him using a bucket for a drum.

emzy brings a passion to his music whether he is playing the piano or the guitar, you can see he loves every minute of it. It drives him. That sparkle in his eye will get you every time.

I got a chance to do another interview with emzy about things going on and his life right now. I first interviewed him in January after I found his music on MySpace. I found his music easy to get lost in, and when you listen to it you forget everything else but what he is singing.

Taylor Blue: If you were stranded on an island, and only had three things with you, what would they be? (And no boats allowed!!

emzy.collins: I would like to have a Kawai grand piano, a guitar, and my dog, Coby. I have watched a great deal of both Survivor Man and Man vs Wild, so I think I am ready.

T: When I first met you because of a song you wrote inspired by Heath Ledger, “We’re All Standing“, what kind of response did you get from others from that song?

e: Overall, it was a very good response. Some songs are easier to complete; this was one of those songs. I had the whole movie/idea playing in my head crystal clear.

T: That song is awesome live! How would you classify your music?

e: The answer I would like to say is I don’t. I would like to be able to think without a box around me, but I understand most listeners would like some sort of a base to start from (i.e., pop, rock, heavy metal). But to give the answer most people would like, I will say Ambient pop.

T: What inspires you the most to write??

e: My imagination and my heart..

For the rest of the interview and pictures….check after the jump!!

T: Where do you usually write your songs?

e: I would guess you are asking about lyrics. I write my songs all over the place, so not one certain area. Sometimes I will just be in my studio other times in the shower or driving. Those are the hot spots to find me thinking clear enough to write lyrics.

T: Do you practice your music everyday?

e: Well, I do end up playing everyday, I don’t really look at it as practicing. But there are times when things get super busy and I might go a day or so without playing, and it makes the connection with my music even better when I come back to it.

T: You can tell music is your life…How does it effect you overall?

e: Being able to express myself through music is priceless. It has got through a lot. I always turn to music. It’s like a little escape for me. When the world seems to be too much, I can just go away to my music. And it’s not just times that make me want to play music, it’s just an awesome tool to get me through the hard times.

T: Music has done the same for me…Like if I listen to a song on the radio it will remind me of what I was going through my life at that time. And sometimes I can’t listen to a certain song because it hurts too much. Do you do that too then?

e: Yes, I know exactly what you are saying, it happens with me too. For some songs

know right where I was, time of year and everything. It brings every little detail back to me.

T: You have a section on your website where you put little thought posts. Why did you decide to do that?

e: I like to put myself in the fans’ shoes. I am a fan of many artists as well, so I like to think, “what could they do to really connect with me as a fan?” I thought that being honest with my fans and showing my true thoughts would be a personal touch. Plus, I like to hear what people think about different topics I might have going around in my head.

T: It’s great to get to know you as a person for sure. I think one of the most awesome new things you have introduced is the live show and chat. Even though I have never met you face to face it feels like I have. How did you come up with that idea???

e: It’s actually a very old idea I had. It just took some time to find means of doing it smoothly. I started playing a long time ago in random video web chat rooms. I would go into one at complete random, and ask the moderator if could play some music. Then if everything was a go, I would just play. The problem was that it wasn’t fast enough, the video was bad quality and the timing was all off. Thankfully, the people at Mogulus came along and solved the problem.

T: How involved are you with your fans??

e: I would like to think as involved as I can get without thinking it’s as good as it can be. I would like to strive for perfection but not think I am perfect.

T: How can people listen to your music??

e: I have tried to do whatever is easiest for the listener. By that I mean I have joined different networking web sites. I have my own site which I refer to as the main site, that has a custom music player that plays most of my music. That is the best place for the highest quality sound.

Most people go to MySpace, but there are a number of different locations to find my music including YouTube, last. fm, iLike. My music is available for purchase at my store and is also now available on iTunes, AmazonMP3, Rhapsody and others. But if you are purchasing primarily to support my music the best place would be my main site because it eliminates the middle-man.

T: What is your greatest goal right now in your life?

e: I am happy being able to play music for a living.. However, I would love to have the opportunity to tour and be able to support myself a little better. It’s sad that money plays such a big part sometimes, but reality is what it is.

T: What’s coming up next for you and your music?

e: I am always writing, so with that I have been working on either a new EP or LP. I haven’t really decided what it will be yet. As always, I want to do the best I can to connect with my audience, and continue to make more people aware of my music. As for what’s next, I guess the sky is the limit or whatever I can handle as in independent artist.

T: Is there anything you wanted to add?

e: I can’t really think of anything, other than a thanks to everyone for their support because it helps a ton.

emzy.collins has impressed me many times with his maturity and talent, and I am a die hard fan of his. I talk about him all the time hoping that the right person will listen and sign him. emzy’s next live show and chat is on Saturday, April 26 at 6 PM EASTERN TIME.

Thanks, Wm'sMom. I will admit, when you first posted this, I did not read it or listen to it. I was not able to bear anything and was merely going about the motions of keeping HH going. But not focusing . . .

It is lovely. I had not realized that he was a real singer. I thought it was just a fan tribute. I'm glad I finally got around to hearing it. . . I'm also going to be downloading it to my Ipod-like thing.

Here is the entire embedded song from your YouTube link:

QUOTE(Emzy Collins)

This is a song I just wrote inspired by the tragic loss of Heath Ledger. I did not have a chance to know him personally, but his work seemed to be a testament of his personality.

Here Emzy talks in depth about how he came to write the song for Heath:

emzy.collins Sings From His Heart

Back in January I interviewed emzy.collins. It was shortly after Heath Ledger passed. I wanted to repost the interview because it means a lot to me.

Taylor: Hello Emzy, I’m so glad that you are taking time to give me this interview. Your song “We’re All Standing” really moved me. Why were you inspired to write the song about Heath Ledger…and what kind of emotions did you want to show with it?

Emzy: Thanks. Well in “We’re All Standing” there were a lot of things that were going on in my head. I write very scattered, I like to jump around.. Well at least that’s what happens so I go with it. First a little background. One of my close friends was friends with Heath and we have been trying to get in touch with him now for some time. I don’t know if you know about this or not but he just started a label with Ben Harper. I liked the sound of that so I wanted to try to get in touch with him.. So in my first line “was it something I said” I was speaking of the complications in getting in touch with him. Although I understood he was very busy. The moment I heard about his death I was listening to the news and the words they said just painted a picture so clear to me. It said something about people lining up outside the apartment, everyone standing, hardly any sound. All of the surrounding buildings were not lit. It just had a very heavy emotion. I didn’t think of writing a song yet. I went in my studio to think and next thing I knew I started playing the melody.. The entire song came together very fast. I touched on how he played his roles so true it was hard to get out of them, at times. I just overall wanted to express my respect and share how this tends to happen all to often; we lose someone too early and then it’s like everyone wakes up and shows their support.. I just hope Heath knew how much his was loved by his fans. And just as a sidebar I normally don’t like to explain my songs, just because I like to have the fans think what they want and go where they wish with my music. I have read some people having doubt that this was truly written about Heath, that is one of the reasons I wanted to share my ideas behind it. The thought of trying to “cash in” on something like this is the degrading.

Taylor: Heath will be missed so much and you can feel the emotions in that song. It is degrading to think that someone would think you are trying to cash in off of his death. I was just watching some of your songs on you tube. You have such a passion…you really sing from the heart! It’s nice to see that. What are some of your major influences when it comes to writing your music?

Emzy: I think that the influences that musicians have are a lot deeper than just music.. I love lots of other music like Sigur Ros, Jeff Buckley, Radiohead with the list growing daily. I just really think the world around us really shapes us, more than give it credit for.. And as for writing my music, I never think of other musicians intentionally. I try to just let whatever happen, and go with it. I really love the creative process.
